Originally from Montreal, Orofino earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from York University. Her work has been supported by the Toronto, Ontario and Canada Arts Councils, and she is an alumnus of the 2022 Director’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. In 2024 she was selected for the BITS Horror Development Lab.

Erica’s short body horror Dirty Bad Wrong premiered at and won a Silver Audience Choice Award for Best Canadian Short at Fantasia Film Festival (2024). She also wrote and directed the short film, She Keeps Me, which won Best Canadian Short at the 2022 Pendance Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Short at the 2022 Female Eye Film Festival and 2022 Oakville Film Festival. Her short film, Tampon, won Audience Choice Award at the 2020 Vancouver Short Film Festival and was the Runner Up: Best Comedic Short Film at 2019 Austin After Dark Film Festival. She was the writer/director and producer on the horror short, Fantome and she also directed the short film, Jupiter (2023), the CFC TV Pilot Teaser, Happily Undead After and produced the 2022 short, First Blood and Pocket Princess, both directed by Olivia Loccisano.

In the commercial world, Erica’s work directing spots for Stok’d Cannabis earned two bronze Cannes Lions awards, several gold and silver Pencils at The One Show, a silver and bronze Marketing award, an AICP award and an ADCC. In total, she has earned 20 industry nominations -- and counting -- for her work in commercials.
